JOB SUMMARY:

Writes, edits, and packages communication materials designed to implement SEARCA's public awareness programs and activities, ensuring their relevance and accessibility to local, national, and regional audiences in Southeast Asia.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Formulates and implements an annual communication and PR plan linked to strategy and advocacy;
  2. Writes news articles for release to different media outlets and ensures that the articles are published in mass media and online news outlets and sent to partners as newsletters. This includes new articles to be published in SEAMEO member countries;
  3. Pitches stories to the media, appropriate media in the Southeast Asia region, prepares media kits, and organizes press conferences;
  4. Writes publicity collaterals and records press releases for purposes of monitoring and further dissemination;
  5. Establishes and maintains productive media relations for wide exposure and promotion of the Center;
  6. Serves as the Center’s focal person for media liaison;
  7. Produces corporate publications (i.e., Annual Report, institutional brochures, newsletter, Audio Visual Presentations, partnership booklets and briefs);
  8. Ensures documentation of Center-related activities (i.e., provides or coordinates photography/video coverage); and
  9. Organizes community, philanthropic and special programs, and events to help promote SEARCA.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  Master's Degree in Social Sciences, Communication Arts, Liberal Arts, Development Communication and Humanities or related field or equivalent work/training experience.

Work Experience: Five (5) years of relevant work experience in the same post.
